Making Ideas Happen

Devoured this book this weekend.  It read as if it was written directly to me.  The subtitle is "overcoming the obstacles between vision and reality."

The book is divided into 3 main sections.
Organization and Execution
Great analogy of always moving the ball forward.  Also, every idea has action steps that have to be tracked and completed.
Learned that I am a "dreamer", so if I can partner with one or more "doers", the venture has much more chance of succeeding
The Forces of Community
Other people always play a role in pushing your ideas forward.  I realized that without a sincere group of the "community" backing and sharing the burden of this idea it will be very difficult to pull off.  Need to be transparent with the idea.  Thinking about publishing this blog.
Leadership Capability
Some of the greatest barriers we face along the path to pushing our ideas to fruition lie within us.  Self-awareness of my liabilities and flawed judgements are greatly needed.  Have a finish line in mind, something I usually never think of!

OK, I'm off to meet a sports flooring owner to get pricing at the potential facility.
