Fast forward 3 years, we have won back to back "franchise of the year" awards, and now after we sold 2 of our franchises to Homero, he is leading the country in sales! Here's a funny story and some lessons learned...
Our main prospect was HVAC contractors and I explained to Homero how to pitch it as a "Joint Venture" between companies. Homero's english is very funny to listen to, but it won't stop him from getting the sale. After listening to him on the phone, I kept hearing him tell the person on the other line..."Join the Adventure", and they were signing up in droves!
So 3 lessons learned from this funny episode:
- Don't assume your student understands exactly your teaching/coaching.
- With passion, you can overcome the many obstacles that come your way.
- I'm a dreamer and Homero was a doer. To have a truly successful business, it takes both types.
